Your first Korean words

Korean uses its own alphabet, Hangul (한글). In this first activity, focus on recognizing and saying four useful expressions.

1. Hello

안녕하세요 — annyeonghaseyo — Hello

This is a polite greeting you can use with most people.

2. Thank you

감사합니다 — gamsahamnida — Thank you

3. Yes

네 — ne — Yes

4. No

아니요 — aniyo — No

Quick practice

1. Read each Korean expression aloud three times.
2. Say 안녕하세요 as if you are meeting someone.
3. Say 감사합니다 as if someone helped you.
4. Review 네 and 아니요.
